Health care consumers and insurers nationwide should not see any changes as a result of today’s Supreme Court decision. BCBSNC’s ACA customers continue to use a great deal of expensive health care– and that drives rates higher.

“Sort-A-Rama raises awareness about access in our state to nutritious food, which is necessary to live an active, healthy and productive life,” said Barbara Morales Burke, vice president of health policy and chief compliance officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC board member.

Since 2012, BCBSNC donated nearly $100,000 to local non-profit organizations due to the team’s hard work and support from fans.

“The bundled payment model moves us away from the traditional ‘fee-for-service’ model where the patient pays medical professionals for each service they provide patients, including tests, appointments and procedures,” said Brad Wilson, BCBSNC president and CEO.

“Earning the Blue Distinction Center+ designation shows commitment to safety, quality and cost, three important standards to our customers,” said BCBSNC Chief Medical Officer Susan Weaver, M.D. “We value these facilities for keeping their standards high and through this recognition they empower customers to better manage their care when choosing bariatric surgery.”
