Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s (BCBSNC) Million Step March arrived today at East Carolina University, joining with community leaders from across Pitt County to celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has awarded Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina full accreditation for the company’s Blue OptionsSM preferred provider organization. The accreditation, which took effect in April, means the company’s PPO meets the NCQA’s highest national standards for quality improvement, service and access to care.

Today, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s Million Step March (MSM) arrived in downtown Raleigh, where city and state leaders joined hundreds of other people on the statewide physical activity campaign. The Million Step March is almost halfway into its 600-mile walk designed to encourage healthy living.
