DURHAM, N.C. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) announced North Carolina-based Heather Cozart and Dorlisa Flur as the newest members of its Board of Trustees. The Blue Cross NC board consists of community leaders across North Carolina with varied backgrounds in health care, education, business and finance.
“Decades of combined experience, paired with an incredible track record of continued growth and success make Heather Cozart and Dorlisa Flur great additions to our board,” said Blue Cross NC Board of Trustees Chair Ned Curran. “These North Carolina leaders will bring their financial expertise and corporate strategy guidance to benefit our customers and local communities as we continue our work in making health care more affordable for all North Carolinians."
Cozart will serve on the audit committee and the personnel & compensation committee, while Flur will serve on the audit committee and the investment committee.
Heather Cozart
Cozart’s career spans more than 20 years in the public company and auditing sectors. She most recently served as partner at FORVIS, LLP, where she led assurance and advisory engagements for private and publicly traded entities, including regional and community banks, asset management companies, specialty finance companies and professional services firms. She currently serves as a board member for Blue Ridge Bankshares, Inc., where she is a member of the audit committee and the fintech committee. She is also a director on the board of Marbles Kids Museum.
She is recognized for her accounting expertise, as well as her experience with corporate governance. Cozart was previously recognized by Triangle Business Journal (TBJ) as a 40 under 40 award recipient. Cozart graduated from Salisbury State University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Science in business administration. She is also Directorship Certified ® by the National Association of Corporate Directors ® (NACD ®).
Dorlisa Flur
Flur is an experienced corporate executive, strategic advisor and board director. Currently, she serves as a board member for Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc., where she is a member of the audit committee and the nominating, governance, and corporate responsibility committee. She is also a director on the board of Hibbett, Inc., and serves on the board of United States Cold Storage.
Flur has served as senior advisor to Southeastern Grocers, Inc. since August 2018 and was previously its Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. Flur has had professional experience in nearly every operational function over the course of her retail career. She spent the first half of her professional career as a partner with Mckinsey & Company, Inc. She earned her MBA and Bachelor of Science degrees from Duke University in an accelerated five-year program, majoring in economics and computer science. She is also a Board Leadership Fellow of the NACD ® and is Directorship Certified ® by the NACD ®.
