Durham, NC — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) announced it is a recipient of Forrester’s 2022 Enterprise Architecture (EA) Award. This award recognizes excellence in executing an enterprise wide, outcomes-driven enterprise architecture practice putting customers at the center of its technology operating model. Improving technology is one of the many ways Blue Cross NC is working to make health care more affordable, accessible, and easier to navigate.

Blue Cross NC received Forrester’s Enterprise Architecture Award for the successful creation of an EA practice that is achieving adaptive, creative, and resilient customer experiences. Blue Cross NC’s EA team did this through direct technology investments, accelerating analytics strategy, and focusing on a seamless experience for patients, partners, and providers. The team adopted innovative EA practices, including building its own EA planning tool, Aardvark, to enable collaboration and decision-making across enterprise teams, leading a cost-effective migration to a cloud-based analytics platform, and maintaining EA roadmaps for every business area as well as enterprise-wide technology roadmaps that underpin business goals. These efforts allow Blue Cross NC to deepen its local advantage and improve affordability, helping to make health care better for all.
