DURHAM, N.C. – In response to several active wildfires, especially in counties in western North Carolina, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is allowing early prescription refills through December 7th to ensure that customers have access to the prescription drugs they need.
This action follows a declaration of a state of Emergency by Governor Roy Cooper and is in effect for members who are residents in the following counties: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Rowan, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Union, Watauga, Wilkes, Yancey, as well as the tribal lands in the State of North Carolina held by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Members with questions about their coverage may log in to their self-service portal at blueconnectnc.com to send a secure message or contact the customer service number on the back of their Blue Cross NC ID card. The early prescription refill policy does not apply to controlled substances. Blue Cross NC will continue to update customers through the company’s social media channels.
