Durham, N.C. – In response to the predicted severe weather and the State of Emergency declaration, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) has taken steps to ensure customers’ access to their prescription drug needs are uninterrupted by the storm.

“We want those living or traveling in the affected areas to focus on protecting themselves, their families and their property without additional worries,” Blue Cross NC President and CEO Patrick Conway said. “We have initiated procedures to ensure that our customers can get the medications they need during and after the storm.”
Blue Cross NC emergency response procedures are in place. These procedures are in place as long as a state of emergency declared by Governor Cooper is in place. Blue Cross NC has advised our contracted pharmacies of the appropriate measures to assist customers affected by the storm in order to refill their prescriptions early or replace lost or destroyed prescriptions.

Customers who have questions about prescription refills or other services should call the customer service number on the back of their member card.  In addition, pharmacies who have questions should call the Blue Cross NC Pharmacy desk.
