CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – C. Daryl Hollis, a business leader with extensive experience in corporate financial management and governance, has been named to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) Board of Trustees.
Hollis, who lives in Hendersonville, is currently an independent business consultant. He has more than 30 years experience in corporate financial matters.
Hollis was executive vice president and chief financial officer for the Panda Project. Inc., a company that develops semiconductor technology. He also worked as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Pointe Financial Corporation, a bank holding company. He has served on the boards and audit committees of several corporations. For 14 years, he was a partner with the Ernst & Young accounting firm.
“Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is a nearly $5 billion company responsible for the health coverage needs of one-third of our state’s residents,” said Dr. Jeffrey Houpt, chairman of the BCBSNC Board of Trustees. “Given that responsibility, our financial management and accounting must continue to meet the highest standards. Daryl will be a great asset as we fulfill that duty.”

Hollis has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Abilene Christian University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
The BCBSNC Board of Trustees is made up of 14 community leaders from across North Carolina, with diverse backgrounds in areas including health care, business, finance, and education.
