Chapel Hill, N.C. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) and Capital Emergency Physicians, P.A., of Raleigh have reached a new agreement for the practice to serve as an in-network provider for BCBSNC members.
Capital Emergency Physicians provides medical care to patients treated in the emergency room at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital (formerly Raleigh Community Hospital). Capital Emergency Physicians is the only Wake County ER physician practice currently participating in BCBSNC’s networks. The new contract was effective March 1.

"We have negotiated in good faith to reach this mutually beneficial agreement. This will mean increased convenience for our members who receive emergency care at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital."

In the Triangle, ER physician practices serving UNC Hospitals, Duke Medical Center and Durham Regional Hospital are also in BCBSNC’s networks. BCBSNC always advises members to go to the nearest hospital in an emergency.
