Chapel Hill, N.C. – The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation (BCBSNC Foundation) has redesigned its website to increase awareness of Foundation programs and to make applying for grants easier and more efficient. The website address remains: bcbsnc.com/foundation.

"The BCBSNC Foundation realizes that local non-profit organizations face a daily challenge in locating the funding they need to have an impact in their communities," said Bob Greczyn, president and chairman of the BCBSNC Foundation. "We believe the Foundation's new website will help these groups by easing access to resources."

The BCBSNC Foundation's new interactive website will provide grant seekers additional information and resources. Information regarding the grant funding categories, grant submission deadlines and applications are now available via the website. The redesigned website allows users to search by organization name, grant amount and fiscal year to learn about previously funded grants.

More comprehensive information about the BCBSNC Foundation's signature programs has been added to the redesigned site. Users are able to download Healthy Community Institute for Non-Profit Excellence applications as well as submit requests for the Button Chair, part of the BCBSNC Foundation's Breast Health Project.

"This new website will only strengthen the BCBSNC Foundation's ability to make a difference in the community," said Kathy Higgins, BCBSNC Foundation vice president and senior director of community relations at BCBSNC. "By providing potential grantees with more information on how to apply for grants, a calendar of key dates and deadlines and other important tools, the BCBSNC Foundation continues to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians."

The BCBSNC Foundation also announced a call for letter of intent applications for the "Up to $25,000" grant category. The deadline for submitting the application is July 15, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. More information and an application are available on the redesigned website: bcbsnc.com/foundation.
